Israeli Pavilion of the Venice Biannale 2024

My friend and collaborator Ruth Patir has been chosen to represent Israel for the 2024 Venice Art Biannale. This has been a HUGE project which is definitely a milestone in our mutual work which has started around 2018.

The “MOTHERLAND” exhibition features Shosh, a 30 something single Israeli woman who is also an ancient  fertility figurine. Despite her iconic status, she doesn’t know if she would like to have kids, though the state definitely wants her to. And she also carries the BRCA2 gene (aka the Breast Cancer Gene).
